Did Someone Say Veggie Burger?
Alternatives to consider for your grill
National Veggie Burger Day, celebrated June 5th, is a great opportunity to switch up your culinary skills and enjoy some plant-based goodness. In celebration of this day, we have curated a list of four of our own nutritious veggie burger recipes that you can try at home.
First on the list, we have a Plantain Lentil Burger, which is great for those looking for a high-fiber and vegan option. We combine green plantains with red lentils and cashews to create a satisfying sweet and savory combination that is hard to beat.
If you're looking for something a bit more traditional our Southwest Cauliflower-White Bean Burger is perfect for you. It has 13 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber and is loaded with nutrients like iron, magnesium and vitamin C.
Our next recipe features the unexpected combination of yam and green or red lentils with ricotta cheese, flaxseed and a variety of spices which makes for a delicious alternative to meat with 15 grams of protein! When served with a salad, they pack both flavor and crunch.
Lastly, we have a Chickpea Burger capped with pineapple sauce that is both light and refreshing, perfect for a summer day. The pineapple topping gives the burger a vibrant punch of flavor and is an excellent source of antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and improve heart health.
All these veggie (and fruit!) burgers are healthy, delicious, and easy to make at home. So, go ahead, celebrate National Veggie Burger Day with something new!
