Dole Banana Farmer

Socially engaged

From the farmer to the warehouse clerk - it is the people in all their diversity who have always shaped the Dole company. They all contribute to the global supply of fresh fruit and vegetables. We at Dole are proud of so much passion and want to permanently improve the livelihoods of all people across the entire company. It doesn't work without it: Health, education and entrepreneurship are the most important core areas for Dole's community development. And by social engagement we mean long-term and reliable commitment.

Our DALE Foundation in particular does important work in the social field. Investments of over $36 million from 2005 to date have funded numerous educational, medical, and community development programs. But Dole will continue to pay close attention to social issues in the years to come. In concrete terms, this means: We will finance municipal projects with a percentage taken from each banana and pineapple box sold. A total of $50 millionUSD will flow into these projects over the next five years. The work of the DALE Foundation will also be expanded to the entire Latin American region. In addition, there are individual commitments at the municipal level. The Dole Way also and especially means: respect for each individual person and the will to make a positive contribution every day.
