5 reasons why autumn is the perfect time for families
Even if summer is coming to an end, families can still enjoy fun, open-air activities! There’s lots to do outdoors at this time of the year – numerous activities for young and old and typical autumnal foods (anyone for pumpkin?) make autumn the perfect season for spending time with the family.
1. Off to the climbing park
Climbing parks with high ropes courses are a great idea for spending time with the family in autumn. Under the guidance of qualified instructors, even children and beginners can give this a go and cross ropes courses at a dizzying height. Fresh air, fun and team spirit are guaranteed.
2. And now for some leaf battles
Unforgettable childhood memories! Piles of colourful leaves in forests and parks are simply an invitation for some enjoyable, boisterous activity. Forget your everyday cares and stresses by throwing yourself into some glorious leaf battles. The exercise you get is an added bonus.
3. Let’s jump some puddles
With the right clothing, even the rain won’t do us any harm. And luckily in autumn there is more than enough cool water to enjoy. A pair of wellies and rainproof trousers are all the kids need to jump and splash around in the puddles – but are mum and dad willing to give it a go as well?
4. At last – pumpkin time again
Family time in autumn is particularly enjoyable and typical autumn dishes make the cooler days downright delicious. Autumn is the time when the spotlight is on pumpkin, mushrooms, chestnuts, quinces and nuts. These can be collected during a family walk or bought at autumn markets in the countryside. At home, simply cook up something delicious with these healthy treats – how about a warming soup?
5. Fun in the wind – fly a kite
It’s getting windy out there! It’s not only the kids’ eyes that will light up when they see colourful kites in the autumn sky. An open field or similar space is the best and safest place to enjoy these high-flyers. Whose kite will fly the highest? Tip: Autumn family time can start at home by making the kite. A few strips of wood, paper, glue, string and a little bit of skill are all you need for this fun hobby.
Let’s FALL in love this autumn!
