Pick

How do you pick ripe dragon fruit?

To pick ripe dragon fruit, choose specimens with vibrant, evenly colored skin and a slight yield when gently squeezed. The skin should have a firm but not overly soft texture, indicating ripeness. A ripe dragon fruit should have a sweet, fragrant aroma. If it lacks fragrance, it might not yet be fully ripe.

Prepare

How do you prepare dragon fruit?

To prepare dragon fruit, first, slice the fruit in half lengthwise, and then use a spoon to scoop out the flesh from the skin. You can also slice along the skin with a sharp knife to remove. The flesh can then be cut into cubes, slices, or any desired shape and is ready to be enjoyed fresh or added to various dishes, fruit salads and beverages.

Storage

How do you store dragon fruit?

To store dragon fruit, keep it in the refrigerator in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap. This helps maintain its freshness and prevents it from overripening. Dragon fruit can typically be stored for up to 5-7 days when refrigerated. Remember that dragon fruit can continue to ripen after being picked. So, if you're not planning to consume it immediately, you can let it ripen at room temperature, and then store it in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life.
