The Rules

is Easy

Submit an original small plate recipe that can be prepared in 60 minutes or less on a gas grill (with a burner), uses at least one DOLE Product and up to ten additional ingredients (salt, pepper, water and oil or butter used for cooking, and cooking spray do not count as an ingredient).

Three finalists will be flown to Los Angeles to prepare and present their submitted recipe to a panel of judges led by renowned celebrity chef, Ben Ford, along with a live audience at Santa Monica Place to cheer them on.

The Round One Judges will judge and rate each Recipe according to the following Criteria:
(1) Best Use of DOLE® Product(s) - 30%, (2) Flavor and Taste – 25%, and (3) Creativity – 15%, (4) Presentation – 15%, (5) Ease of Preparation – 15%

The 2014 DOLE California Cook-Off winner receives a $25,000 cash prize in addition to 4 days & 3 nights in Santa Monica.

"Master tasters" who know good food but prefer to leave the cooking to others can enter for a chance to join the panel of prestigious judges and help crown the winner, in addition to 4 days & 3 night in Santa Monica, the selected judge will also win a $1,000 cash prize.
